Chief of Staff
As we scale here at Zero Point Motion, we are seeking a Chief of Staff (CoS) to serve as a strategic right-hand to our CEO. This role is ideal for a highly driven problem solver who is both commercially minded and technically literate, ready to roll up their sleeves in a dynamic, execution-focused environment.
As Chief of Staff, you will be embedded at the heart of the CEO's agenda, driving CEO-led sales initiatives, liaising with product delivery teams to drive alignment, and ensuring that strategic priorities are communicated and executed efficiently. You will synthesize complex information, coordinate cross-functional teams, create commercial documentation and work closely with a broad range of stakeholders.
The role isn’t for the faint hearted. As an extension to the CEO, you’re there to support the growth of the business, helping launch our first product to market. This is a high-impact role, ideal for someone looking to gain C-suite exposure, working closely with customers and product teams.
Your mission: Accelerate ZPM’s commercial growth by generating and closing PoC deals, supporting strategic fundraising and GTM activities, and acting as a key thought partner to the CEO.

- Sales cycles move faster because we know everything about the prospect, prospects are fully qualified, we’re organized and you’re teeing the CEO up with the right information at the right time to help close deals
- Customer delivery runs smoothly— projects are on track, stakeholders fully informed and aligned and risks are identified early so they don’t turn into problems
- Across the board, the CEO’s vision and priorities are clear, with everyone pulling in the same direction and turning strategy into action
Ownership areas:
The Chief of Staff role presents a unique opportunity to have a meaningful impact on the future of ZPM. The intent of the role is to support the CEO in founder led sales, meaning a heavy focus on business development but with additional exposure to the the CEO’s priorities - particularly across supporting fundraising, profile raising, marketing and other strategic growth activities.
As this is a new role in the business, we’ll be working together to define success measures and shaping the role to set you up for success. However, the initial intent is for the CoS to own and be accountable for the following areas which I believe absolutely plays to your strengths:
1. Pipeline generation- own the relationship with our appointments agency (SparkSense) to ensure they are focused on the right prospects, are qualifying correctly and have the information to tee up leads for you to take over.
2. Funnel ownership - own the sales funnel moving opportunities through the process from qualification to close. This means pulling in the right people at the right points of the process, mainly the CEO for technical pitches, and generating all proposals, drafting contracts and owning supporting documentation.
3. Prospect relationships - building on the funnel ownership, act as main point of contact for all prospects, building stakeholder relationships, understanding prospect needs, mapping organisations etc.
4. CRM ownership - own the CRM, ensuring all contacts are accurate and up to date with a contact strategy assigned
5. Communications strategy - working with our marketing agency establish and deploy communications strategy to establish regular contact with our CRM database, reinforce our GTM activities and fundraising strategy.
6. Investor strategy - working with the CEO ensure we have an up to date CRM for investors, with supporting analysis of all parties, Define and deliver a contact strategy to ensure we maintain those relationships.
7. Investor materials - work with CEO to prepare Board packs and other investor updates, ensuring effective information flow and follow up.
8. Operational support - provide day to day operational support to the CEO to ensure everything is running smoothly, we are using our time efficiently and with focus.
9. Internal alignment - work with the team to ensure clarity of objectives, key results and priorities across the business, acting as voice of the CEO as needed.
What success looks like in the first 6 months:
- Maximise value from our appointments agency - 3+ qualified leads generated monthly via SparkSense
- Own process and documentation to close our initial Proof of Concepts - 2 PoC deals signed in alignment with our business planSort out our CRM - CRM coverage at 100%, with defined comms strategy in place
- Establish an Investor database - up to date, with prioritised contact strategy
- Internal stakeholders aligned on pilot delivery milestones
- Internal alignment on priorities, progress and objectives
Responsibilities:
Sales Support - External:
- Internal alignment on priorities, progress and objectives
- Act as the primary support to the CEO on key sales engagements - helping structure and maintain the go to market plan
- Qualify leads working with the appointments agency and prospects directly to ensure alignment on needs and product market fit
- Prepare collateral such as pitch decks and proposal documentation for prospective customers
- Attend client meetings (virtual and in-person) with the CEO as needed, managing follow-ups, next steps, and action plans
- Drive sales pipeline visibility, tracking, and forecasting, ensuring the CEO is focused on high-impact opportunities
- Develop and maintain contact strategy for warm prospects, including managing the CRM
Sales Support - Internal:
- Prepare internal briefings on prospects to ensure effective qualification and preparation for meetings
- Support pitch to pilot delivery for high-priority client engagements with the internal team, ensuring milestones are met and cross-functional alignment between engineering and operations teams
Operational Support:
- Act as a thought partner to the CEO, helping prioritize initiatives and manage day-to-day leadership cadence when needed
- Working with programme delivery, engineering and operations, drive OKR alignment and progress tracking
- Ensure the CEO's time is focused on high-leverage activities by managing inbound requests, meeting prep, and critical decision frameworks
- Translate complex technical updates into executive-level communications and ensure the CEO has clarity on risks, dependencies, and customer impact
- Manage discreet projects as needed for the CEO
Skills & Experience
Must-Haves:
- 3-7 years of experience in Chief of Staff, Business Operations, Product, or Program Management roles, ideally within deep-tech, semiconductors, or hardware startups
- Proven experience supporting executive-level sales processes, including complex B2B deals with technical buyers
- Strong technical literacy—comfortable engaging in discussions about MEMS devices, ASICs, sensor architectures, and manufacturing processes
- Project management skills - proven ability to drive cross-functional delivery, manage multiple stakeholders, and keep teams aligned in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills—able to translate technical and commercial insights for internal and external audiences
- Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a start-up environment with evolving priorities
Nice-to-Haves:
- Prior experience working in fabless semiconductor or MEMS companies
- Exposure to foundry relationships and OSAT partnerships
- Familiarity with sales cycles in automotive, consumer electronics, industrial IoT, or healthcare sectors
- MBA or technical Master’s degree a plus.
